Religion

Mon Mar 3, 2008, 2:57 PM
*If anything in this offends you, please do not bother to comment, just move along, you will forget about it*

I’m not sure how to start this, or what to say, It’s just something that has had me thinking, and pondering for the last few days…

Religion, as you may know, is mainly belief. Belief in something that is, responsible for everything the world has to offer…

Some people use religion to get away, it could be, an Abusive relationship, to prostitution, to just trying to make your life better, many things, and when they are tired of it, they run, and a lot usually find a church.

People use religion as an excuse, like… Blaming stuff on Satan, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard this. They use religion so they can lie to themselves, tell themselves, “Hey, It’s not me doing it, it’s the devil.”

And a lot of people are Religious because it’s what they know, it’s what they grew up learning, anything else would be confusing to them, and these tend to be the people, who in my opinion are rude… Very rude… For instance, a year ago in school, we were studying Islam, which I believe is something you should be grateful for, well. We had a speaker, and she was talking about the stuff, And I noticed how some people would laugh, or just give rude faces, because in their minds, they thought it was shit, that none of this was true, that it was all just.. Tainted, and to be honest it made me pissed, that they could be so disrespectful, I know they wouldn’t like it if someone was like that when they were sharing their religion.

That leads me to my next point, What is it causing all of the mayhem in our world, what causes wars, deaths, Most of you would say hate, Well, hate doesn’t just form, you are taught to hate, by someone older or someone you look up to usually, and they were taught to hate, and so on… So, we can’t blame hate, we blame ourselves, But it was someone who made us this way, do we blame them, or the person that made them that way? There is no one to blame, But I do feel Religion, is the key point, they don’t believe what you believe, so they are evil.

Once I heard my mom say USA was for Christians and that’s what God wanted… and I thought about that, and realized how sick it was. She was saying, God, The creator of all. God, goodness, anti-evil wanted the British to run in America, and slaughter all of the Native Americans, Kill the Hispanics, and get as much land as possible, I don’t think so. She had it wrong I found that out soon, America was made for freedom of religion, believe what you want, and to be happy, and now you’re not allowed to bring a bible into public buildings. Religion is causing hate, a lot of it...

Ne of my friends at school, who we’re trying to prove a point to, she is one of those, Christians because it’s what she grew up knowing, and she is highly religious, like for instance, she’s fasting, from entertainment for 2 months... And we asked her why, and she said it will bring her closer to god…. I don’t get that, and I asked her how that would bring her closer, and she couldn’t answer, I proved my point to her, and I told her that….. Then I hear, “I have an answer, but you wouldn’t understand it.” Which this answer was amusing and I told her I know more about Christianity then she might think… And this is what really gets me, she says, “But I’m a higher level Christian than you” So, apparently Christianity has levels, Like it’s a game… And every time she brings up something religious, We ask her “how” or “why” and she can’t answer, she says it’s because we wouldn’t understand, But I think It’s because she doesn’t
Heh, I have a lot more to say, but tired of writing, maybe there will be a part 2 soon.

Asceticism does bring you to a state of being closer too God, because you renounce to something concentrating on Him.

Just because some religious people can't give answers, doesn't mean religion lacks them.

Also, one has to keep things in context.

In real Christianity absolutisms are impossible, so most fundamentalists are just close-minded bigots.

Hopefully the terms I use aren't too difficult for you, but always keep in mind that religion is natural and in a century like ours faith is important despite the peril it can bring in its abuse.

but that's man, not god, so blaming religion in itself is pointless.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. How could I forget? Sasuke says all he needs to say by not saying anything at all in regards to Sakura. So naturally that means everything when we take the pairing perspective on this. ~jin-desu
